Just a quick message to Chloe who regularly reads this blog and occasionally provides comments.
She and many others have been evacuated from their homes near San Diego because of fires. I wish her and all affected a safe return.

Thank you, Mike!! We returned home today, and thanks to the efforts of the firefighters and man-made fire breaks, our neighborhood avoided any burned homes.
It did burn up to the edge of our neighborhood, and all the surrounding hills, but we are ok. The house smells terrible, and there is a lot of soot and ash to clean up, but we are ok.
Many others weren't so lucky, and for all my relief, my heart breaks at the devastation others have encountered.
